Overview
The Sex Education Initiative is a multi-day training with foundational and specialized learning opportunities. Key partners will provide instructional support and event co-sponsorship. Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credits will be provided upon completion. Sex Ed Fellows are asked to attend the following:
- October 27, 2017 (Optional)
- Foundations: Core Skills Training for Sex Ed by Answer & Cardea
- November 10, 2017 (Required)
- December 4, 2017 (Required)
- Panel Discussion: Lessons from the Frontline with local and national leaders
Early application deadline by September 20, 2017. Final Application: October 20, 2017

Foundations: Core Skills Training for Sex Ed by Answer & Cardea
8:30am - 3:30pm [7 hours]
A standardized, national model for training teachers to deliver sex education. This training is not required, but is highly recommended. Topics will include:
- Climate Setting
- Values Exploration
- Managing Self-Disclosure
- Responding to Challenging Questions & More
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10, 2017

Specific Focus: Intentional Pregnancy & Parenting (IPP) by the Sexuality, Women, & Gender Project
You will be introduced to our specialized approach. Our SexEd KIT incorporates the three pillars of learning: Knowledge of content; Immersion into self-knowledge; Translation into a relevant context.
