Qualified applicants must be a teacher or trainer who works with or within a New York City Public Middle or High School and who has taught or plans to teach sexual health education. You do not need to be a certified health teacher.

TRAINING EXPENSES

What is the cost of registration and/or tuition for the summer Institute?
Thanks to the generous support of Teachers College Alumnus Mary Edlow, the Institute is FREE. Travel-related expenses are the responsibility of the attendee.

Does the training include meals?
Yes, meals will be served on each day of the training. The panel discussion will have a reception to follow.

TRANSPORTATION

How do I get to Teachers College using train/subway/car/bus?
Teachers College is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on 120th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue and is accessible by various modes of transportation. Click here for information on getting to campus by public transportation.

If I drive to the conference, will there be parking?
On-street parking spots have only 2-4 hour meters and are in short supply. There are several commercial garages in the Morningside Heights campus area, which you can find here. The Riverside Church garage is one of the several parking garages nearby.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Can teachers earn professional development credits for attending the Summer Institute?
Yes. Participants who have stayed for the full session receive a Certificate of Completion from Teachers College which may be recognized for professional development credit hours.
